Cedar Siding in Lexington, SC
Warm, natural, and genuinely durable — cedar siding installed with the precision it deserves by a team that treats every board like it's going on our own home.
What Cedar Siding Involves
Few materials pair beauty with performance quite like cedar. Its natural oils give it a built-in defense against rot, decay, and insects, which is exactly why it has stayed a top pick for exterior siding across Lexington, SC for so many decades. It simply holds up in ways cheaper woods can't match.
Homeowners can choose from a range of cedar profiles — classic bevel and lap boards, or shingle and shake patterns for a more textured, dimensional finish. We walk through these options with every homeowner so the profile matches both the home's architecture and their personal style. No matter which is chosen, getting it right comes down to the details: proper spacing for expansion and contraction, fasteners sized to avoid splitting, and clean, tight transitions at corners and openings.
We back-prime or seal every cedar board before it ever goes on the wall. That hidden face needs the same protection as the side everyone sees — skip it, and moisture works its way in unevenly, leading to the cupping and warping that shows up years down the road. It's a small extra step that pays off for the life of the siding.
Cedar can weather naturally into a soft silvery-grey, take a stain that highlights the grain, or be painted for a bold, solid color — and we talk through the upkeep each route requires before any work begins. Whatever finish you land on, a steady maintenance rhythm keeps it looking sharp, and we'll tell you exactly when it's time to reseal or repaint. Harbor Ridge Exteriors has been installing cedar siding across Lexington, SC for 15 years, and it's the small finishing touches we obsess over most.
